Zebunnisa Jilani ((ウルドゥー語:زيب انيساء جيلاني)) is a social entrepreneur, nutritionist and president of the Swat Relief Initiative (SRI). She is a U.S citizen of Pakistani descent. She is committed to working for the underprivileged women and children in Swat. Jilani is a member of the royal family of the former princely state of Swat in Pakistan. She is the granddaughter of Miangul Jahan Zeb (the last royal ruler of Swat).〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://berkleycenter.georgetown.edu/interviews/a-discussion-with-zebu-jilani-founder-president-swat-relief-initiative )〕 Born in 1952 at Saidu Sharif in Swat, she grew up with her grandparents and her aunt. At age five, she was sent to a Catholic boarding school in Murree, northeast of Islamabad.〔 At 25, she married Arshad Jilani, the son of Major General Mian Ghulam Jilani. The family settled in New Jersey. She got a degree in Nutrition in 2005.〔 When a massive human displacement from Swat took place in the first half of 2009, following a large scale military confrontation between the Pakistani military and the Taliban, she decided to set up the Swat Relief Initiative to assist the Swati population in refugee camps. She went to Pakistan in March 2009 to help the internally displaced persons (IDPs).〔 The SRI went to locations not addressed by other aid agencies, provided relief goods and formed two mobile health units that treated 400 patients a day,〔 focusing on children and pregnant women. SRI also partnered with the Human Development Foundation, which is very popular with the Pakistani community in the US. During the 2010 flood in Swat, SRI provided relief goods and medical aid to the afflicted.
